Chinese Model Hu Bing Targeted by Thieves in Spain

Model Hu Bing recounted his experience of getting mugged while in Barcelona, Spain, and has cautioned his audience to be cautious when traveling internationally.

Citing 8 World , Znews It was reported that Hu described the event in a recent live stream, where he mentioned that he and his crew were attacked by a cyclist who turned out to be a thief.

A man suddenly appeared on a bicycle, zoomed past us, and grabbed a bag from one of our makeup artists," Hu explained. "The stolen bag included a passport, cash, and various crucial documents.

Even though they tried chasing the thief across multiple street corners, Hu and his crew couldn't manage to get close enough. Afterward, they informed the nearby authorities about the incident, only to be advised that retrieving the pilfered belongings was highly unlikely. In response, the team contacted the Chinese embassy seeking help in obtaining replacements for the missing paperwork.

Besides sharing his insights, Hu encouraged his followers to be more cautious and safeguard their possessions when they're traveling. He provided advice on what steps to follow in case of an emergency: inform the authorities to get an official statement, reach out to the consulate to invalidate the passport, request a provisional travel document, and block all credit cards. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of securely stowing away passports separately from wallets to minimize the chance of being stolen.

Hu embarked on his modeling journey at the age of 38 when he started in 1990. The following year, he was crowned "China’s Top Male Model." Notably, he was the pioneering Chinese male model to strut the catwalks for major international fashion houses and went on to endorse prominent global luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino.

Apart from his career as a model, Hu previously served as the editor-in-chief for Harper’s Bazaar Men’s Style China. Additionally, he has explored acting and gathered a substantial number of fans throughout the years.
